First Mission[]
- Mission start/before Boss Battle
- Bret: Hey, it's you two!
- Erns: You ruined everything!
- Hector: Woah, back up a second. Who are you again?
- Bret: I'm Bret and that's Erns, remember?
- Erns: We're bandits! Well, we were bandits...
- Bret: Ever since you beat the boss, he went and fired us!
- Erns: "Weak links," he called us. Can you believe it?
- Hector: You could try being comedians, like I said before. There has to be an audience for that somewhere...
- Bret: How dare you?! Well, we're even stronger than before, so don't think you can get lucky again!
- Erns: Once we beat you, our boss is sure to let us back in!
- Hector: Alright, I guess we got some time to kill.
- After Boss Battle
- Bret: Not again!
- Erns: It was over so fast!
- Hector: Just like their boss, these guys are all talk.
- Randolph: Well, let's press on before they come to their senses.
Second Mission[]
- Before Boss Battle
- --You, Randolph, and Hector continue towards the next outpost.
- Randolph: We should make it to Othlon soon, assuming we don't get jumped by another bandit or assassin.
- Randolph: And rest assured, once I get back, I'm definitely getting to the bottom of this nonsense!
- Hector: No worries. I'm starting to really enjoy the challenge.
- --Hector stops and reclines on the sandy beach.
- Hector: Five minute break!
- Randolph: Your last "five minute break" turned into a thirty minute break, and that was ten minutes ago!
- Hector: Lighten up, Randolph. It's not everyday that you get to visit the beach...
- Randolph: We can't keep waiting, unless we want to get ambushed.
- --Hector leaps to his feet.
- Hector: Fine. Five minute break is over... And it looks like we have company, too.
- --Two hooded figures step out of the jungle brush, and approach the group.
- ?????: Hand over you Capture Cards and come quietly.
- ?????: We wouldn't want to cause... unnecessary harm.
- --You and Hector step forward as Randolph stumbles backward in surprise.
- Randolph: This again! Please, take care of them!
- Hector: Let's wrap this up quickly, because I want to ask them a couple of questions!
- After Boss Battle
- --You and Hector make short work of the hooded assailants.
- ?????: Your resistance has been recognized, and noted as futile.
- ?????: The past must be changed... to preserve our future.
- Hector: Oh great, more vague riddle-talk. What's next, rhyming?
- --You demand to know who these individuals are.
- ?????: You interfere with us so much and yet you do not know?
- ?????: Master Lodar is eager to dissipate your curiosity.
- --The two figures retreat into the nearby jungle.
- Hector: Of course, the usual "run away with your tails behind your legs" routine. Try something new next time!
- Randolph: This Lodar fellow is nearby, I take it. We should get moving before he finds us.
Third Mission[]
- Before Boss Battle
- After Boss Battle
Fourth Mission[]
- Before Boss Battle
- The sun begins to set. As you approach the outer ring of the islands, you spot a shipwreck just off the shoreline.
- Hector: Oh, that might have some supplies, or at least a decent hammock or two.
- Randolf: We're good on supplies, and I'm not sure how safe it is to spend the night in a rotting old boat.
- Hector: Any safer being outside with guys in hoods trying to kill us?
- Randolf: You do have a point there. We would have a decent vantage point to see anyone approaching...
- --The group decides to examine the ship before pressing onward.
- Hector: Who knows, we might even find some treasure!
- --You, Hector and Randolf search the ship.
- Hector: Nothing really useful around here...
- Randolf: It seems like it has been picked clean by scavengers long ago. Quite the pity.
- --You have the strange sensation of being watched...
- Randolf: We should probably leave, though the captain's cabin might have something inside...
- Hector: It's probably worth checking out. Let's head up.
- --As you reach the deck of the ship, a group of hooded figures surrounds you!
- Randolf: Another blasted trap! This is getting really old by now!
- Hector: Again with these hooded weirdos... how many times do I have to kick you guys to the curb?
- --Lodar steps forward.
- Lodar: Well, well, well. Here we are again.
- Hector: Save your breath. We already know you want to kill all of us, so let's skip ahead a little to the part where I kick your-
- Lodar: Kill all of you? You've got it all wrong, punk, you're the only one I want to kill.
- Hector: I... I'm sorry, what?
- Lodar: I couldn't care less about that old coot. I just need to kill you, Finnegan..
- Hector: What?! Me?
- Randolf: Him? What on earth do you want with him?
- Lodar: None of your business! But I'll cut you a deal, I'll spare your life if you walk away right now.
- Randolf: And you expect me to believe that? Get lost!
- Hector: If you've got a problem with me, I'll fight you, but leave Randolf out of this!
- Lodar: Finnegan, it's your choice. Give up now, and I promise to let your friends go.
- Hector: ...
- --You step forward, Capture Card in hand.
- Hector: What are you...?
- --You look at him, and nod.
- Hector: ...You're right. We can't give in.
- Lodar: You still want to fight? Fine! I'll kill you all and burn this entire ship down!
- After Boss Battle
- --Somehow, you and Hector manage to fend off the full force of the assailants.
- Lodar: You little punk! How can this be?
- Hector: That it? Any more of you hooded creeps want to face me?
- Lodar: I'll let you live, for now. Next time, you won't be so lucky!
- Hector: Luck has nothing to do with it! I'll beat you as many times as I need!
- Lodar: Regroup! I'll leave this scum for Veldar to take care of.
- --Lodar and the hooded figures retreat once more.
- Hector: Whew, to be honest, I'm a little winded. Hopefully, they gave up for good now.
- Randolf: ...
- Randolf: ... I can't believe this.
- Hector: Are you alright, Randolf? You look a little pale...
- Randolf: I can't believe that, this entire time, you were the one they were after!
- Hector: Hey, Randolf, I'm just as confused-
- Randolf: Because of you, my life has been placed in danger several times. Yet you continue to treat it like a huge joke!
- Hector: I don't know anything about this!
- --Randolf turns and jabs his finger at you.
- Randolf: And you! They knew you, as well! I've been traveling with two huge targets painted on my back this entire time!
- --You desperately explain that you have no idea what these assailants want, but Randolf shouts over you.
- Randolf: I haven't been able to sleep for days because I've been fearing for my life! And now I get it!
- Randolf: You've both dragged me into your personal affairs, without so much as a warning!
- Randolf: I'm hiring some actual bodyguards. If either of you follow me, I'll have you arrested.
- Randolf: Consider yourself fired.
- --Randolf storms off into the distance.
- Hector: ...
- Hector: He's right.
- Hector: I hate to admit it, but he's right.
- Hector: Those freaks want me dead for some reason, and that means I put you and Randolf in danger.
- Hector: I guess I have to get to the bottom of this, and figure out why... but...
- --You ask Hector what he plans to do now.
- Hector: I want to track that Lodar creep down and get some answers.
- Hector: But I have a much bigger responsibility; to make sure Randolf gets to Othlon safely.
- Hector: He may hate my guts, but if he gets robbed and I'm not there to help him, it's my fault.
- Hector: And those hooded creeps are connected to Malen, so... they might still target Randolf!
- Hector: We need to find him, as soon as possible!
